Mexican Research Project

In our Spanish 1 Honors Class we did a Mexican Research project that identified the population of some cities and states in Mexico. We also labeled where Mexico City, Tepic, Guadalajara, and other states were in the map. Next, we researched ten places we would like to go see if we had the chance to go to Mexico. Finally, two of the places we wanted to go to have to be in the state of Nayarit.

It introduced Spanish culture and also helped us get more understanding of the book we are reading Pobre Ana Moderna. A few things I learned from the map and population portion of the project was that Guadalajara was the second largest city in Mexico. I also learned that the capital of the state of Nayarit was the city of Tepic. One thing I already knew before the research portion of the project was that the president of Mexico is Andrés Manuel López Obrador. On the other hand, one thing I didn’t know was the type of government Mexico is, which is socialist. Also, something that surprised me was that if you have ten American dollars in Mexico you would have about one hundred eighty eight pesos which seemed like a good amount of money in my opinion.  Finally, two places that caught my attention and I want to see is el Lago de Camécuaro National Park en Camino del Lago, Michoacán and La Quebrada en Acapulco, Guerrero. The reason I picked el Lago de Camécuaro National Park en Michoacán is because my dad lived in Michoacán and he always talks about how important this place is to him and I really want to see why this place has so much meaning to him. The reason I chose La Quebrada en Acapulco, Guerrero is because my mom lived in Guerrero and she said the view there was beautiful and I really want to see the beauty she saw growing up.
